WHAT IS BIOPLASTIC SURGERY?

Plastic and cosmetic surgery includes microsurgery, which is focused on rebuilding or disguising the destructive effects of an accident or trauma. Reconstructive surgery makes use of osteosynthetic techniques and the transfer of tissue by the use of flaps and autologous transplants from healthy to damaged parts of the body.

Cosmetic surgery is also used in order to change those parts of the body, which the patient does not consider satisfactory. Nonetheless in many cases there are medical reasons for using this type of surgery, for example Reduction Mammoplasty, when there exist orthopaedic problems of the lumbar spine, or Blepharoplasty (surgical modification of the eyelids) in cases of severe Blepharochalasis (inflammation of the eyelids), which can even make it impossible to see.
